Dear Chamber Members and Members of the Pleasantville Business Community,
Warm greetings as we step into the promising year of 2024! The Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce extends heartfelt wishes for a joyous and prosperous New Year, filled with opportunities for growth and success.
Looking back on the past year, we are delighted to share the positive events and accomplishments within the Chamber. The addition of 30 new businesses to the Pleasantville Chamber, the successful sponsoring of the 2nd Annual Pleasantville Block Party, and the launch of the Shopper Loyalty Campaign mark notable highlights. Furthermore, the return of the Business Person of the Year event and the participation in numerous networking events and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new businesses contributed to concluding the year with the second-highest membership total in our history. These achievements underscore our shared commitment to building a vibrant business environment, even in the post-pandemic era.
As the President of the Chamber, I am privileged to collaborate with a dedicated Board and staff; all driven by a shared vision of fostering continued business growth in our vibrant community.
We extend sincere gratitude to our members who partnered with us in 2023, contributing to the success of our mission through participation in networking events. A special thank you goes to the generous sponsors of the 2023 Pleasantville Block Party—your support was instrumental in making the event a tremendous success!
To our valued general membership, your unwavering support is the backbone of our Chamber. We recognize and appreciate the significant contributions you make to both our community and the Chamber itself.
As we embark on the New Year, we invite you to renew your membership for 2024. You can conveniently renew online at www.pleasantvillechamber.com, offering two options: a one-time payment or automatic renewal. If you prefer to renew by check, kindly complete the form on the reverse side and send it along with your check payable to the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce to P.O. Playground Upgrades: A group of village residents has volunteered to assist the Parks and Recreation Department to develop designs for the replacement of the three Village-owned playgrounds. The Nannahagan Park playground is the first scheduled to be replaced in the spring/summer of 2024. The cost of this work will be paid for through grant funding and parkland deposit funds paid by private developers. For more information, please click here.
Nannahagan Brook Wall Reconstruction Project: The Village is moving forward with a project to address the erosion of the Nannahagan Brook wall structure. The Nannahagan Brook, which runs along Lake Street, receives water from approximately 850 acres of watershed, and due to the increased frequency and intensity of storms, portions of the brook’s wall structure have significantly eroded, specifically in the area of 2 Lake Street (the former village water pumphouse). This has comprised approximate 500-700 linear feet of wall, and put at risk the collapse public infrastructure that runs underneath Lake Street. To address these critical concerns, the Village proposes a project that will replace the compromised section of the brook’s wall and relocate and/or protect the water service line along with other public infrastructure. The estimated cost of construction is in the range of $1.2 to $1.5 million. The Village is actively seeking grant funding to support this project.
